Hello SmileShare and Elizabeth....

I'm new too and am really wanting to go to BM this summer. I see the locals (NE Ohio) are already getting some plans together to make the trek out and put together some sort of camp. I started off driving some of the experienced burners crazy with tons of questions and they were very helpful in answering them for me.

I've never camped in my life (I was never even a Girl Scout). The only thing that may stop me from the playa this year is that my daughter is going to OH Univ in the fall and their move-in week is the same week.

Let me know where you guys are and perhaps we can meet up with some experienced burners to try to find our place in the group!

OK I have committed enough to going this year that the tix came in the mail already. SO must be time to get my playa house in order. Been trying to make a burn for a few years. 2010 will be my first. Hoping to get a feel for some of the camps you guys are with to hopefully find a playa home. In my defacto life I am in Louisville.

A louisvillian! Good to know there are more burners here than I thought originally.

Hey,

Brand new to the forum. Wife and I have often talked of making the trip to BM, but have never been able to get away for it. Very keen on checking out some of the regional burns in 2010. We're of an artistic bent and live off-grid in the boonies of east KY.

Good to meet you all!

Hello to all the new people!

Welcome to the site! Feel free to read over the forums about plans being made to go to the big burn this year and/or look into joining us at one of the local regional burns, Hillbilly Burn, Scorched Nuts or Recycled Rainbow. Those of you in the Ville might want to come to some of the gatherings we have at the KOI pound in Cinci and get to meet some of your fellow burners. Our next meet and greet will be March 20th. Please see the KOI pound link for more info. Again, welcome to the site and welcome home!

Ok...umm...most i can say is "wow"..

after only hearing about BM about twice in my life, i never really knew anything about it until i decided to google it...and my entire self came shattering down to it's core. face-to-face with a laptop felling my mind with all this brilliance of this festival that could mean the life-changing kick in the pants i needed for years.

a week of near-sleepless research and memorizing everything my exhausted brain could handle, i find myself here.
Hello, i'm travis, some call me by my name, some call me by my screen name, but most call me lunchbox...or just lunch. i'm not quite sure why it's not my screenname, but there it is....i'm lunchbox.

i'm 21(will be 22 at the time of BM), i love to cook, camp, LOVE adventure as it is the main attraction i have about burning man; i'm terrible at introducing myself, so i apologize.

i have yet to purchase my ticket as i'm unemployed at the current point and finding it's harder and harder to find a job these days. if i do manage to buy a ticket, i am almost positive that i won't be able to make it all the way to the burn on my own. i hope somehow i'll find a way...if not this year, definately next year. looking forward to meeting you all

Hey Lunchbox,
If there are a group of you are you Lunchboxen?! Sorry couldn't resist, I love the word boxen. Anyhow, its fantastic that you found BM and us! I would encourage you to look at the regional events for more low budget burning! Scorched Nuts, RR and Hillbilly burn are all cheap and in the Kentucky/Ohio/Indiana area. It would be fantastic to see you there. Also the KOI Pound is located in the heart of Cincinnati and is having its monthly meet n' greet/potluck/spinjam on the 17th, should totally pop in and say hi!
